LADY TIDE CLUB SOCCER
Soccer has a weird way of connecting people who you might not have seen yourself being friends with. We competed throughout the Southeastern region of The United States practicing three times a week and traveling on the weekends finally rounding out the Fall season with a championship tournament. The Spring season was a bit more relaxed with friendlies tournaments but I was hanging out with these ladies year round on and off the field.
RUF
RUF stands for reformed university fellowship. It is a campus ministry which connected me with other Catholics at Alabama. I enjoyed this club because these people WANTED to talk and learn about God, something that would not be my first conversation starter to meet new people as a freshman. Although a lot of them may have differed personality wise from me, I stayed consistent going each week to continue my personal relationship with God.
CHAARG
This is a health and fitness club made up of extremely intelligent, hard working women. We partnered as a university club with local gyms and studios to sweat it out once or twice a week. While these were tough workouts, I don’t necessarily remember the sets we did or the weights we carried. I found the most value from my relationships I built while driving to workouts or picking up Angel food smoothies from Smoothie King on the way back to campus.

TERPS CLUB SOCCER
Similar to Alabama, I joined UMD’s club soccer team consisting of a comparable schedule with practices and games.  It’s such a small world because some of these teammates I grew up playing with/against in the little kid soccer leagues. I’ll be the first to admit I am not the greatest at staying in touch with old friends so this club was great to reconnect as a transfer.
SPORTS BUSINESS SOCIETY
This club allowed me to listen in on professors on campus as well as namely athletes such as NFL tight end, Tyler Urban, talk about the nuts and bolts of the business world surrounding athletics which is really interesting, and something you do not hear too much coverage on through ESPN. This club allowed me to combine my love for sports with my passion for business in all facets. From team logos to ticket sales financials, I learned so much just by talking with these members as many of them were also in Smith.
ATP FLIGHT SCHOOL
After coming home from abroad and traveling almost every weekend, my curiosity about becoming a pilot grew as the days passed on Zoom. I started watching YouTube videos of flight simulations at night and found myself one too many times guessing where flights were headed on my quarantine walks with my dog. I took a discovery flight out of Tipton airport in an old T-34 and was instantly hooked. Shortly after I started flight training in between classes and will continue to do so post-graduation.
